Parowan, a town in southern Utah, USA, gets its name from a Paiute word meaning “Evil Waters”. It is said that there was an Indian maiden that was eaten by some sort of monster in the nearby landlocked Little Salt Lake. There are also petroglyphs near the valley that depict some sort of serpent monster.
